Mr. Shishir Rana
Shishir Rana, also known as Shishir S.J.B. Rana, is a renowned figure in the Nepali film industry. He was born on June 5th, 1971 in Kathmandu, Nepal. He is a versatile talent who has made significant contributions as an actor, producer, writer, and director.
Rana’s career in the entertainment industry began in 1991 when he started as an Assistant Director in the movie ‘Chokho Maya’. Since then, he has worked in various capacities in the Nepali film and advertisement industry, including roles as a production manager, model, and line producer.
He has appeared in several popular Nepali movies and television serials such as ‘Madan Bahadur Hari Bahadur’, ‘Tito Satya’, ‘Jire Khursani’, ‘Meri Bassai’, and ‘Jhyaikuti Jhayai’. His debut directional film ‘Timi Sanga’ won him accolades for best screenplay and best film.
Rana’s contributions to the industry have not only been limited to acting and directing. He has also made significant contributions as a producer and writer. His filmography includes a wide range of films, from ‘Basanta Ritu’ in 2004 to ‘Upahaar’ in 2024.
In his personal life, Rana is partnered with Namita Rana and they have two children¹. He did his schooling from Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya, Bhaktapur.
